Forest Hill Garden Club
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: The October 15th night meeting with the help of the Forest Hill Association was a team effort to educate our neighborhood about the latest technology in water conservation. Thanks to Diane Wara and her Landscaping Committee for introducing us to Janet Moye and Michael Hofman, a husband and wife team , who amazed us on how to conserve and manage our watering systems. Thanks, also, to our social committee chairmen Kathy Farrell, Nancy Hagosian, and Helen Scholten for giving our guests food for talk. The Fall Party was a great happening. The decorations and food were splendid. People really got into the ambience of it all. "Many hands make light work" and many THANKS to Eva Monroe, Helen Scholten and the many Garden Club members who helped to make the party a great success. A standing ovation to Carol De Lucchi for getting the new roster to print for 2007-2009. We do the roster every other year so there were many changes. It may not be too late to add a new fax or cell phone number. Join your neighbors at the annual book discussion given by our local book store. Note it is a holiday but we will be celebrating with flag waving and apple pie! Again, this year, members of the garden club will be donating items to the San Francisco Food Bank at the General Meeting on November 12th. If you are unable to attend the meeting, donations can be dropped off between November 5th and November 15th at these two drop-off locations: Toni Buckley @ 45 Alton Way, (681-5789) and Ellie Barry @ 180 Castenada (566-3906) Foods most urgently needed: canned or packaged vegetables, fruit, tuna, meats, soups, stews, and chili, peanut butter, cereal, pasta, rice, and beans.
