2 0 0 8 NEWSLETTER PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Do we have talent? Yes! Dottie McHugh led the way with her CRAFTS show, tell, and display. We were all amazed and delighted to see the skill and creativity of our members Sonia Lewis, Diana Rogers, Helen Scholten, and Darlene Hartman as they discussed their projects and the process of their creations. It was wonderful to hear of the family traditions and stories surrounding the things they made. Our cheery atmosphere was provided not only by great company but by the bright red roses and valentines theme provided by Nancy Hagoosian and Anna Bolechowski. Your president prepared the luncheon from Helen Scholten's Santa Fe recipe. Louise Bachigalupi and her committee assembled it and made certain luncheon was served promptly. Many thanks to all for an inspiring day! Our nominating committee will be meeting this month and their nominations will be posted at the March 17th Dinner Meeting at 6:00PM. We will hold a short business meeting at that time and anyone wishing to make a nomination from the floor may do so at this time. Don't forget to call and RSVP for the dinner! See information below. Monday, March 3, 2008 10:00 AM Refreshments 10:30 AM Meeting for executive board and standing chairs Monday, March 17, 2008 – An Irish Ethnic Celebration 06:00 PM Meeting and refreshments 07:30 PM Dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, Irish soda bread and dessert. RSVP: Louise Bacigalupi (753-2262) or Helen Scholten (566-0980) NOTES March Board Meeting Location: March Board Meeting will be held at Dottie McHugh's house, 368 Pacheco, the brick house in the middle of the block of the divided road on the lower side. Note that the time has been changed to 10:00 AM (after street sweeping) on Monday, March 3rd. March General Meeting: Join us for a traditional Corn Beef and Cabbage dinner on Monday, March 17th - St. Patrick's Day. Only $15 a person for spouse or guest (Garden Club Members are free). Meeting will be at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM. Drink tickets will be sold for beer, wine and Irish Coffee. Please give checks and RSVP to Helen Scholten (566-0989) or Louise Bacigalupi (753-2262). April Board Meeting Location: April Board Meeting will be held at the home of Sima Talai, 2180 Ninth Avenue, on Monday April 7th. There will be a cooking lesson and lunch. The cost will be $25.00 per person. This is a fund raiser for Sima’s April 18th Persian Feast Spring Party that we will have as one of our International evenings. Nominating Committee: We need one more member on the nominating committee, so please consider joining the group, we will only need to meet once. If you would like to serve on the board next year please let one of us know: Dottie McHugh, Yen Bachmeier, Toni Buckley and Anna Bolechowski.
