PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE: The garden Club Fall Community Service was an enormous success. Many thanks are extended to Ellie Barry and Toni Buckley, who have valiantly organized the Food Drive for many years. We are grateful to the many thoughtful Forest Hill residents who helped filling three large barrels with food, as well as cash and check donations for the San Francisco Food Bank. Many thanks to Ingeborg McGlynn, our horticulture chair, for sharing her tips and techniques on how to maintain a beautiful garden. Our annual BookFest of new books for gift giving and personal reading was held at the Clubhouse where Neal Sofman of BookShop West Portal and his crew – Anna Bullard and Susan Tunis introduced us to the latest books on the shelf. Members who purchased books received a 20% discount. A big thank you to Anna Bolechowski for organizing the event and for providing the refreshments with the help of Katie Balestreri, Louise Bacigalupi, Darlene Hartman, Ingeborg McGlynn, Helen Scholten and Sima Talai. The Annual Holiday Party is coming up fast! If you have not made your reservations please do so. The "Holiday Lights" Dinner Dance will be held on Monday, December 8th. The clubhouse and tree will be decorated on Sunday, December 7th. Our wreath-making event will be held on Saturday, December 6th. Come join us at these joyous activities to kick off the holiday season. — Pansy Waller
