PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE:

We had an excellent turn out for our 15th annual Book Fair and Food Drive. Neal Sofman, owner of Bookshop West Portal and his helper Susan Tunis, a literary specialist, came and shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for the newest books on this year's literary list. Members who purchased books that day received a 20% discount.

This year, in addition to the annual Food Drive, we decided to extend our fund drive to help those who have been hurt in the devastating North Bay wildfires. We are pleased to report that we had exceeded our goal for the Fund Drive with a record result of the total of $3,055. Of that, $1,255 is for the NorCal Wildfires Relief and $1,800 is for the SF-Marin Food Bank. Thanks to Toni Buckley for her continuing work on the annual Fall community service. Much appreciation goes to Ingeborg McGlynn, Toni Buckley and Kathe Farrell for providing the yummy refreshments. Decorations credit goes to Yen Bachmeier. The net proceeds of the succulent-decorated pumpkins sale of $300 went to the fund drive. We particularly appreciate the Forest Hill community for its generosity and spirit of sharing and spreading happiness in this holiday season. Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you on Wreath Making Day on the 1st, and at our annual Holiday Dinner Dance on the 2nd. Laura Outsen and her team have already started the assembly of beautiful gingerbread houses. Can't wait to see them gracing our dinner tables. It promises to be a fantastic party!

Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year!

— Yen Bachmeier and Kathe Farrell
