FHGC eNews March, 2020

PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE:

Mission Joy: The Hats of Kathleen Kelly, was a fun program chaired by Yen Bachmeier and enjoyed by about sixty members and their guests. After a nice slideshow presentation, many creations by the artist were worn, modeled and admired.

The entrance and tea tables were beautifully decorated with flowers by Nancy Hagosian and Anna Bolechowski. Yen cleared the debris and pine needles on the brick entrance and set the chairs out for the function. An adorable set of "Succulents in Vintage Tea Cups" arranged by Yen Bachmeier was on displayed at a side table. This was done as a segue into the Club's March Succulent Planting workshop.

A lavish and elegant tea followed. This was a collaborative effort by the ladies on Yen's team of helpers: Ann Rieger-Matthews, Marcia Elias, Nancy Broden, Laura Outsen, San-San Wong, Kathleen Fong, Eva Monroe, Yen Bachmeier and Ingeborg McGlynn. Receiving the guests were Eva Monroe and Dena Aslanian-Williams. Tea was poured by Laura Outsen, Anna Bolechowski, Kathe Farrell and Dottie McHugh.

Having a successful party is the work of many. To all go our big THANKS!

The Garden Club is now a proud owner of a brand new visual projector. Thanks to Kathleen Fong for taking the time doing the research, acquisition and testing with our presenter.

As the liaison with the Forest Hill Association, Kathe Farrell gave a little preview of upcoming events. Bingo Night and already looking ahead to the kids Easter Egg Hunt party. Diane Wara gave a little report on what is happening with our future exercise class at the clubhouse. Ingeborg gave a to do list for our Spring gardens.

Our March program will be community service, chaired by Darlene Hartman. The members will make little creations with succulent plants to be delivered to Laguna Honda Hospital. Refreshments will be served to participants after work. Please forage your gardens for miniature succulents and bring them to this workshop.
