DECEMBER 2 0 1 1 BULLETIN 
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Thanksgiving has just passed and I hope all of you had a wonderful time with family and friends. First of all, I'd like to thank Sally Kipper for covering for me while I was away in November. I was told we had a good turnout at the November meeting. Many members brought guests. Everyone appreciated speaker Neal Sofman, co-owner of Bookshop West Portal, who shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for the newest books on this year's literary list. Members who purchased books that day received a 20% discount. Big thanks to Sima Talai for organizing the event and for providing the yummy refreshments. Thanks also to Katie Balestreri's for her contribution of her famous cookies! The Fall Community Service Project led by Ellie Barry and Toni Buckley was a big success. Four barrels completely filled with food were collected for the San Francisco Food Bank. All of us are thankful for our thoughtful Forest Hill community. The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we have a busy and exciting December ahead of us. Don’t forget to reserve your spaces at the Holiday Dinner Dance. NOTES Holiday Dinner Dance: Put on your dancing shoes and come enjoy the festivities at the Annual Garden Club Holiday Dinner Dance on Monday Night, December 5 at 6:00 PM. The theme this year is Silverbells. Your adult friends and family are also welcome. Please RSVP to Louise Bacigalupi (753-2262) or Helen Scholten (566-0980). The cost is only $85 a person. See the November flyer for more information. Deck the Halls: Hope you can also join us as we decorate the club house and Christmas tree on Sunday, December 4 at 10:00 am. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Clorinda Aldrich 564-0236, if you plan to help so we can have a headcount to plan the lunch. January Meeting: January general meeting and program "Vintage a la Mode" will be on the 16th. Illness: Ann Impett is now at the new Laguna Honda Hospital for rehabilitation. We wish her a speedy recovery. Ann has her cell phone with her and would welcome your phone call (415-518-8017) or your visit to her rrom on Floor M, room PM19.
