BULLETIN

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

This is a composite bulletin covering 3 months of September, October and November, superseding the pre-printed September bulletin. Reason explained below.

Welcome back to a new season of the Garden Club! I hope everyone had a nice summer break and are ready for Fall. This is my first year as president, and I am excited and looking forward to seeing all of you at our first meeting in September. I anticipate that this year will bring some exciting new programs for you to enjoy. We will have our regularly scheduled meetings on the third Monday of the month, as well as some new evening and weekend events. We are planning an evening Winter Soirée, in February, and a Spring Fling Clothing Exchange, in April.

As costs have increased for everything, we have also increased our dues to $75.00 per person. Our membership fee is very reasonable and helps us cover most but not all of the expenses required for our programs. As many of you may know, we have opened our membership to men as well. We encourage you to add additional family members to our membership roster!

Our September Luncheon Opening Program AND the October General Meeting (FH Architecture Program) have to be cancelled and we will begin our Garden Club General Meetings TWO months later due to construction at the Clubhouse. The Forest Hill Association is in the process of rebuilding the front walkway and the garages at the clubhouse. The work is expected to be completed in October. We are looking forward to a new, beautifully restored brick terrace and clubhouse entrance!

Please join us on November 13, at 1:00pm, as we begin our year with a community service program: “Book-Fest and Food Drive”. You can buy books at the Book-Fest at 20% discount. The Food Drive is to collect funds to help the SF-Marin Food Bank. Members are asked to be generous with your donations via check. Many thanks to all of you who contribute to this worthy cause.

Following the program, you will find a sumptuous refreshment table brimming with delicious little bites, lovingly prepared by a talented group of our members, waiting for you to enjoy.

All our events are open to members and guests. Caregivers of members are always welcome at no charge and the guest fee is $10. We will also be discussing the coming year events and giving you a preview of what is planned for the year. Please send in your annual dues using the membership form enclosed.

The FABS class will begin on Thursday, November 2nd.

Just a reminder, we are continuing our COVID precautions by requesting that all participants at our meetings have been vaccinated and boosted (as health permits).

We are looking forward to an exciting year and hope you will join us! See you soon.

Thanks,
Ann Rieger-Matthews
