PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE:
The Garden Club closed out the year and kicked off the holiday season with a fabulous dinner party. We packed the house to the max! Guests were first greeted with free flowing champagne and cocktails and then treated with an exquisite culinary experience with a six-course tasting menu with accompanying wines. Knight's service was excellent, the food was presented like an art piece and tasted delectable. The wines complemented each course brilliantly. All the while, guests were serenaded with swinging music by the old time favorite Tony Macaroni Band. We can't think of another community where neighbors come together annually to share a good meal, laughter and good cheers to celebrate the coming holiday season. This only happens in Forest Hill!
Of course, an event like this was made possible only by enthusiastic help from many volunteers.
Special thanks go to our resident foodies and wine connoisseurs Anna and Michael Bolechowski for expertly selecting and pairing the food and the wines, and to their committee for organizing and
looking after every detail. Many thanks go to the Old Goat Richard Waller who hung the twinkling lights inside the clubhouse and on the outside tree.
Additionally, many thanks are extended to members of the hardworking ‘Deck the Hall’ committee:
Clorinda & David Aldrich and Tugba Salkim, Yen & Mel Bachmeier, Louise Bacigalupi, Katie & John Balestreri, Suzie Curtiss, Donna Earhart, Kathe & Walt Farrell, Page Fenston,
Saundra McCormick, Dottie McHugh, Eva & Michael Monroe, Helen Scholten, Jane Smith & Michael Creedon, Sima Talai and Diane Wara.
The Clubhouse was magically transformed into a festive holiday setting. The beautiful mantle decorations and holiday wreaths spectacularly adorned the fireplace. The little Christmas tree at the entrance
hallway was absolutely adorable decorated with red bulbs and red poinsettias.
The white cyclamen’s centerpieces with their twinkling lights brightly glowed at each table. Our resident crooner,
Walter Farrell, once again did a magnificent job leading us with the holiday sing-along.
Thank you, also, goes to Louise Bacigalupi, Maria Elena Hanley and Ann Rieger-Matthews for the traditional wreath-making day. Everyone had a great time selecting the right branch to make a perfect wreath.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2015 New Year!
— Pansy Waller
