PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE: The thirty-ninth annual Chicken Salad Luncheon was held at the Salma’s residence. We would like to express our appreciation to Marica and her committee for giving a beautiful beginning to our 2013-2014 season. This will be our last meeting away from “home”. Our clubhouse will be opened on October 6th, although our book-fest meeting will be held at the West Portal Book Store. We would suggest meeting at the Clubhouse and carpooling to West Portal. Our grand opening of the Clubhouse will be an eye opener to our members. You will be surprised at our new look. Come and celebrate! We would like to give unending thanks to our house chair person, Sally Kipper, and her committee for all the work they performed this summer—moving the Garden Club’s possessions out and back into the Clubhouse. HARD WORK—WELL DONE! Our November meeting will concentrate on table settings and floral arrangements. We will also be collecting for our Annual Food Drive. Please be aware that so many need help—especially around the holidays. — Helen Scholten and Louise Bacigalupi
