FHGC eNews May-June 2014

PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE:

As this Garden Club year is drawing to a close, we wish to thank all of the dedicated members who served so unselfishly throughout the year in hosting events, arranging interesting speakers for us, putting together very special and fun parties for everyone, providing flowers in beautiful arrangements, baking, cooking, coming early to set up and clean up afterward for events, providing their time to take care of the business of the Garden Club. Thank you all! We owe a great debt of gratitude for your efforts in making sure the Forest Hill Garden Club succeeded in its endeavors this year. What a special group of individuals you are.

This month, we were treated to a very special docent talk on the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit being shown at the de Young Fine Arts Museum. Thank you to Eva Monroe for arranging this excellent speaker event. We all learned so much. Thank you, too, to Kathleen Anderson for the excellent refreshments, and to Nancy Hagosian and Anna Bolechowski for the beautiful flower arrangement, which graced the elegant table awaiting all of us with such lovely refreshments. Also in April, we enjoyed conducting our board meeting in Darlene Hartman’s beautiful home. A special thank you to Sima Talai for her charity event party on April 25th benefiting Moms Against Poverty. Sima’s tireless efforts are most appreciated.

Next month is full of Garden Club activities beginning with our board meeting on May 5th. The time for this meeting has been changed to 11:00 a.m. at the Clubhouse. Helen and Louise will host this event. Our Strawberry Social and installation of officers will be held on May 19th in the Clubhouse. Kathe Farrell will host of this event. May 30th is the President’s party to be held in the Clubhouse from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. It will be a light supper and dessert. Please RSVP before May 23 to Lina Pritchard or Anna Bolechowski.

We have loved serving the Club as presidents this year, and as our term draws to its close, we again wish to express our gratitude for the contributions of all the members given throughout this year.
