Forest Hill Garden Club
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Happy New Year everyone! The Garden Club wrapped up the year 2012 with a fabulous holiday dinner party chaired by Pansy & Rich Waller, who bravely stepped up to the challenge and did a marvelous job, and thanks to Katie & John Balestreri for generously pitching in to help with the project, as they so often do. I would also like to thank all the 22 volunteers who showed up in spite of the pouring rain the day before to decorate the tree, and to transform the clubhouse into a fabulous festive holiday setting. Later, to defray the cost of decorations, we put the table centerpieces (artfully arranged by Eva Monroe) for sale and all were taken! Guests arriving were warmly greeted with free flowing manhattans and martinis, then treated with a delicious dinner presented by Knight's Catering. We danced it off to the music provided by Candace Forest at the piano and Dan Feiszli at the double bass. Walter Farrell, our talented resident crooner, serenaded us with his favorite Christmas carols and he also led us in a merry sing-along. In all, it was a Season to Be Jolly! Thanks to the Association, we always have a Christmas tree in front of the clubhouse every year. But this year, the tree was particularly sparkle and bright, and twinkled with lights! The lights were professionally hung and this was a personal gift from Diane Wara to the Forest Hill community. Thank you, Diane! Wishing you all the very best in 2013! --Yen Bachmeier
