BULLETIN

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

Happy Spring! I am pleased to report that the Spring Dinner Party was a resounding success. “Flower Power” was the theme, and we were instantly transported to the sixties era by the outrageous dress and music of the period. Despite the turbulence of those times, all had fun reminiscing about the days of our youth! Everyone dressed-up (or dressed-down) for the occasion. I have never seen so many hilarious hippies in one room! Credit goes to co-chairs Clorinda Aldrich and Donna Earhart, helpers Pansy Waller and Anna Bolechowski, for creating such a groovy "Flower Power" setting. Thanks, too, to "iron-woman" Sally Kipper for all the heavy lifting during set-up. Special thanks to our Old Goat Mel for lending his "oldies but goldies" music. Thank you all!

Our March program featured “Create a Garden Room”, a presentation by John Alexander of JGA Garden Designs. Kudos go to Eva Monroe for making this event possible, and for nourishing us with a sumptuous afternoon tea. Many thanks go to Nancy Hagosian for the beautiful flower arrangements which greatly enhanced the event. It was an interesting and informative event. Thanks to those who brought plants for the plantcart and participate in the plant exchange. Big thank to Ingeborg McGlynn, our horticulture chair, for sharing her tips and techniques on how to maintain a beautiful garden. You are invited to tour her own garden on April 15, immediately after the Laguna Honda Hospital Garden tour. Please let Ingeborg know (564-3547) so she can expect you. It will be a treat!
